A roundup of several alleged fugitives around newark ended with the arrests of five men and a woman on Thursday.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, he announced the arrest of Narik Feaster, 23, of Orange, Jahaan Allen, 23, Lonell Carruthers, 22, Almuqtadir Padgett, 20, Dyshawn Williams, 22 and Itiyanah Spruill, 24, all of Newark, during multiple operations that targeted these wanted fugitives.
According to a statement released by Director Ambrose, police raided a home in Orange on Thursday in the 400 block of Mountainview Avenue where detectives assigned to Criminal Intelligence and members of the ATF arrested Narik Feaster who they say was wanted on a federal warrant stemming from weapons offenses.
Director Ambrose said the same team later arrested Jahaan Allen in the 1000 block of South Orange Avenue for the same offenses. Both men were turned over to the U.S. Marshals for Trigger Lock proceedings.
The Fugitive Apprehension Team, N.J. State Police and investigators from Juvenile Justice arrested Lonell Carruthers in the 800 block of Clinton Avenue for the May 3 escape from Bordentown as well as carjacking.
Police say the same team of law enforcement officers arrested two others wanted for the May 3 escape in the 300 block of West Runyon Street. According to authorities Dyshawn Willams was wanted for escape and carjacking while police wanted Almuqtadir Padgett for escape.
During the West Runyon Street operation, police say they arrested Itiyanah Spruill on an outstanding warrant from another agency.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
