An overnight shooting that sent two people to the hospital in Jersey City is under investigation by police.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 200 block of Neptune Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. where officers arrive at the scene to find two males suffering gunshot wounds.
Police say the pair was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center with one of the victims suffering a gunshot wound to the chest while the other was struck to the abdomen.
Police set up a crime scene where they collected evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. There were no arrests reported.
