A medivac helicopter airlifted a child to the hospital after a car struck them in Perth Amboy this evening.
Emergency responders rushed to the 200 block of Prospect Street at around 6:30 after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck.
Upon their arrival, they found the injured young child suffering serious injuries at that location.
According to preliminary reports the child is around the age of two and was struck by a vehicle then thrown less than 10 feet.
The incident remains under investigation.
