Police in Paterson are investigating a crash that caused serious injuries overnight in the city.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the intersection of Union and Lexington avenues at approximately 11:15 p.m. to investigate reports of a car crash.
Units arriving at the scene requested firefighters and rescue crews after the observed a car overturned on the front lawn of a house with occupants inside the vehicle trapped at that location.
About eight people were transported to the hospital with two of the injured reported as severe according to reports.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
