The Essex County Prosecutor's Office will handle the investigation involving a police pursuit that resulted in a crash with several officers injured overnight.
According to a brief statement released by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, the investigation is in its preliminary stages after the officers suffered non-life threatening injuries when a car they were chasing ended in a crash in the vicinity of Greylock Parkway and Washington Avenue just before 10 p.m.
Shortly before the crash, police reportedly attempted to pull a vehicle over for unknown wants when the driver refused to stop and led police on a pursuit through a section of Belleville.
All of the officers were transported to University Hospital where they are expected to survive.
It is not immediately clear if police apprehended the suspect at this time.
