There is an active investigation underway after police found two women, one dead and one unconscious inside a Bayonne apartment.
According to police, sometime after 4 p.m., officers responded to 795 Ave. E for a report of a medical emergency.
Upon arrival, police found the two woman unconscious inside their public housing complex apartment.
Officials say one of the victims, only described as 35-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim was transported to Bayonne Medical Center in unknown condition.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
