Firefighters in Paterson battled a multi-alarm fire that ignited inside a house in the city early this morning -Saturday-.
The fire broke out just before 4:45 a.m. in the 40's block of Hooper Street sending crews to the scene where they observed heavy fire engulfing a two and a half story wood framed house according to preliminary reports from fire officials.
Firefighters on the scene struck 3-alarms as the fire grew and began to extend to other homes.
As of 5:29 a.m., crews had much of the fire contained they but did not report it under control at that time.
There were no severe injuries immediately reported.
