A Plainfield Councilwoman has announced the overnight death of a NJ Assemblyman.
According to a brief statement released on the Facebook page of Councilwoman Rebecca Williams, 78-year-old Assemblyman
Jerry Green (D) from Plainfield transitioned from an unspecified illness.
Green served on the General Assembly from 1992-present and was the Speaker Pro Tempore from 2008-present according to the New Jersey Legislature website.
A Deputy Speaker Pro Tempore from 2004-07 and Deputy Speaker serving from 2002-03, Green reportedly resigned as Chairman of the Union County Democratic Committee in January.
