Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced that their office is investigating the death of an infant who was transported to an area hospital Monday by his parents.
Officials said that at approximately 10:19 a.m. on Apr. 16th, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office was notified on an infant fatality by St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic.
According to the hospital, the 18 month-old male infant was brought to the hospital by his parents after he was allegedly found unresponsive.
Detectives from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the hospital and the family’s home and conducted an investigation.
The child’s body was later transported to the New Jersey Medical Examiner’s Office and the results of that examination are pending.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
