The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office are investigating a shooting that left a man dead inside a car overnight in Jersey City.
Authorities say at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of a shooting incident in the area of Peace Drive in Jersey City.
Responding Police Officers found a victim inside a parked motor vehicle on Peace Drive.
The victim was found in a lifeless condition with apparent multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Police say the victim, later identified as Devon Thomas, 26, of Jersey City, was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 8:25 p.m.
The cause and manner of death are pending an investigation by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
No arrests have been made at this time.
