Police have identified the 51-year-old Lyndhurst man whose car was found abandoned near the banks of the Passaic River.
According to officials, Vitorino Cirne was last seen Thursday when he left his home sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Investigating authorities subsequently found his vehicle near the Lyndhurst Bridge in the area of Kingsland and Riverside Avenues.
Police describe Cirne as a 5-feet, 7-inches tall male, 150 pounds with brown eyes, brown-and-gray hair and a fair complexion. Officials said he was last wearing blue lounge pants and a black Adidas jacket with white stripes on the sleeves and a zippered front.
