Firefighters in Berkeley Heights battled a raging fire that ignited a gas tanker truck early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Diamond Hill Road and Ghost Pony roads after receiving reports of a vehicle fire just before 2 a.m.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a fully involved tanker truck burning at that location.
Hazmat crews and firefighters from several municipalities, including Springfield, arrived at the scene and began to extinguish the blaze that was fueled by more than 8,000 gallons of gas with foam according to reports.
The official cause of the fire is under investigation.
There were no serious injuries reported.
