Police in Edgewater Park has launched an investigation into the official cause of a pedestrian strike that left one person dead overnight in the city.
Emergency responders rushed to the 4200 block of Route 130 before 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a car.
Units arriving at the scene found the unconscious and unresponsive person suffering severe injuries according to reports.
The unidentified person was pronounced dead at the scene reports said.
Police temporarily closed the roadway for the investigation.
