EMS rushed a senior woman to the Jersey City Medical Center after a car struck and critically injured her in Jersey City this morning.
The incident happened just before 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Ege Avenue sending police to the scene where they found the 65-year-old woman lying on the ground severely injured.
According to Jersey City Police officials, the unidentified woman suffered a broken spine and hip.
Officials say the female driver remained on scene and is cooperated with police.
Although speed does not appear to be a factor, the incident remains under investigation officials said.
