EMS rushed a man to University Hospital after police found him suffering a stab wound in a Newark neighborhood.
According to preliminary reports, police located the injured male in the vicinity of 7th and Clifton avenues just before 9 p.m.
Police say a male suspect approached the victim and produced the sharp item before stabbing the victim.
The suspect is a black male who wore dark clothing according to reports.
The incident remains under investigation.
