Newark Police is reporting the arrest of Mr. Kevin B. Johnson, 47, of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping that occurred on Monday evening.
According to a statement released by police, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed Johnson remove debris, carpets, and boxes of miscellaneous papers, from a house he was rehabbing.
Police say they observed Johnson take the debris to a nearby vacant house and leave it in the rear yard.
Officers arrested Johnson then charged him with illegal dumping and illegal transport of solid waste.
Police officials say The Illegal Dumping Task Force has made over 25 arrests thus far this year.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
