Newark City officials and Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose continued efforts to connect the community with positive, informative, and engaging interactions with its police department had Newark's Finest in a late evening session of Bingo with some of Newark's "sharpest" Seniors in the Central Ward.
Officers C. Reed and M. Silva made their way to the senior building located at 1 Court Street on Thursday afternoon where they spoke to residents about the department's stepped-up commitment to involve the community and residents in ridding the city of criminal activity while building a bridge where the community can trust and rely on law enforcement.
During the conversation, the group engaged in several games of Bingo that had about five seniors win ShopRite gift cards according to city officials.
The police department's community policing department has met over 200 community organizations, civic groups, churches, school, and other religious groups since 2015.
