The crash happened at the intersection of Central Avenue and South 9th Street just before 1:30 p.m. sending police to the scene where they took two suspects into custody after they attempted to flee the scene.
The crash involved two cars and a salt spreader according to on-scene reports.
Two victims -adult male and female- were rushed to University Hospital with the male victim suffering fatal injures after rescue crews extricated him from the vehicle.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
