Newark Police charged the driver of a vehicle with DWI after an early morning crash caused injuries in the city's North Ward.
According to reports, emergency responders were called to the Park Avenue entrance of Branch Brook Park after they received information of a crash with possible injuries reported.
Rescue crews arrived to find the damaged car that crashed into a tree at that location.
The passenger of the car was treated for non-life threatening injuries at University Hospital according to authorities.
Police are continuing to investigate.
