Police in Newark reports the arrest of Mr. Al-Furquan Baker, 41, of East Orange, Mr. Kenneth Peebles, 54 and Mr. Ernest DeWitt, 53, both of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping that occurred yesterday -Wednesday-.
According to a statement released by police, at approximately 2:50 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed three men pull their Dodge pickup to the rear of 15 Hill Street near a dumpster rented by New Community Corporation.
Police say they watched as the trio tossed black plastic bags and building material into the dumpster.
Officers moved in and arrested all three men then charged them with illegal dumping and illegal transport of solid waste.
Police say their truck was subsequently towed and could be subject to forfeiture.
According to Newark's Director of Public Safety Anthony Ambrose, The Illegal Dumping Task Force has made 24 arrests thus far this year.
These charges are merely accusations.
Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
