Hudson County authorities are continuing to investigate an incident where a man who accused of leading police on a pursuit Tuesday evening in North Bergen suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound during the incident.
According to preliminary reports, the man allegedly kidnapped his girlfriend and ultimately ensued a pursuit through several New Jersey towns in the victim’s gray car.
North Bergen Police reportedly caught up with the man after he rammed the vehicle into one of their vehicles.
According to reports, after the crash, a woman was seen jumping out of the vehicle screaming hysterically.
Police say after ordering the driver to exit the vehicle, the suspect allegedly shot himself in the head causing fatal injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
