An armed carjacking reported in a Newark East Ward neighborhood has police searching for the suspect responsible for the incident.
According to preliminary reports, the incident happened just before midnight in the 20's block of Johnson Street where arriving police officers were met by the victim who reported that a male suspect armed with a gun demanded their vehicle at gunpoint.
The suspect reportedly took a Chevy Equinox that had unspecified Connecticut license plates.
There were no physical injuries reported.
