Police Looking for Newark Man Accused of Firing Gun at Woman Following Dispute

Authorities announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for Ikaim McSwain, 27, of Newark, for an aggravated assault that occurred yesterday.

According to authorities, at approximately 6 p.m., police responded to Irvine Turner Boulevard, near Springfield Avenue, on a report of shots fired.

Police said a man fired a handgun at a man and woman following a quarrel.

Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Ikaim McSwain as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes.

While police are actively searching for McSwain, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from the streets.

Authorities describe McSwain as approximately 6’1” tall, weighs about 170 lbs, medium complexion, black hair, brown eyes and wears a full beard.
