A threat to create bodily harm to students and staff made on a Twitter social media account had police and school officials close all public schools in the Bayonne today-Monday-.
According to Superintendent of Bayonne schools Dr. Michael Wanko, the threat was made on Friday and because police have not discredited the threat as of 6:40 a.m. Monday, forced him to make the decision to close schools.
The unidentified person who posted the threat stated that they will begin to shoot up schools in the district at 4:20 am Monday.
On February 23rd, police locked down the high school after a mistaken threat made on a social media account that was reportedly aimed at a school in another state.
Police are actively investigating both threats.
