Jersey City Police has launched an investigation and a search for the suspect who committed a strong-armed robbery where the victim was assaulted overnight in the city.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the vicinity of Virginia Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive just before 9 p.m. to investigate a report of a robbery in progress.
Units arriving at the scene found the victim suffering a minor injury after a male suspect approached and demanded a cell phone before going on the attack.
The suspect reportedly sped from the scene in a dark-colored sedan with tinted windows.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
