Two adults and four children were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation injuries Wednesday after a fast-moving fire burned through their residential building.
According to authorities, approximately 70 firefighters responded to 364 Fairmount Avenue around 11:30 p.m. last night for a report of a fire at a residential building.
The fire was placed under control at 2:57 a.m.
Officials said two adults and four children were transported to area hospitals for treatment of smoke inhalation.
There were no firefighter injuries reported, officials added.
The cause and origin of this fire will be investigated by the Newark Fire Division’s Arson Unit.
