UPDATE: Bouncer Injured in Irvington Township Night Club Stabbing, Lockdown Incident

Police in Irvington Township took a man into custody and charged him with assault after a stabbing incident that took place at a nightclub on Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident broke out between two patrons who were in attendance at Marlos Cocktail Lounge at around 1:45 a.m.

Police say, the pair engaged in a physical altercation when one of the patrons produced a knife and began to stab the other. When the bouncer started to break up the fight, the suspect turned the knife on the bouncer causing injuries as well police said.

EMS transported the victim, and the bouncer to the hospital where doctors treated the bouncer for non-life threatening stab injuries, then released him police said.

The victim remains in the hospital in serious but stable condition as of Monday.

Irvington Township Police charged the suspect with two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

The incident caused a temporary safety lockdown of Marlos until police deemed it safe for patrons to leave the establishment.
