A violent early morning stabbing that sent several people to the hospital has police in Irvington Township investigating.
Details regarding the incident is pending a police information request, but according to preliminary reports, club patrons were locked inside the Marlo's Night Club by police after a stabbing incident that took place in or around the vicinity of the club early Sunday morning.
The incident happened in the in the 700 block of Lyons Avenue, just before 1:45 a.m., sending police to the scene to investigate a stabbing with injuries reported.
According to patrons inside the club who contacted RLS Metro Breaking News, about a half-dozen police officers entered the establishment and ordered patrons not to leave the club due to an "extensive police investigation."
EMS transported at least two victims, who suffered stab injuries, to University Hospital in Newark in serious but stable conditions according to reports.
It has not been confirmed by officials if the incident directly involved patrons at the club or if it was an issue that occurred in the Lyons Avenue corridor.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
