City officials would not release general public information on a violent carjacking that sent one person to the hospital Wednesday afternoon in East Orange.
According to preliminary information obtained from residents, the incident occurred at around 4:20 p.m. in the vicinity of Summit Avenue at North Arlington where police were called to the scene to investigate a carjacking in progress report.
Upon their arrival at the scene, residents say they ordered EMS for the victim who told authorities that at least one male suspect approached and demanded their car before physically attacking.
The victim was transported to University Hospital were they sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
