Firefighters in Jersey City made fast work out of a fire that ignited inside of an apartment building early this morning.
Crews were called to a three-story multi-family building located at 30 Pine Street just before 2 a.m.
Crews arriving at the scene found a smoke condition and fire in the cockloft of the building.
Residents inside the building were evacuated and given temporary shelter as firefighters knocked down the flames in about thirty minutes.
A search of the building for injured or trapped occupants came back negative.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
