Police chased a vehicle that was occupied by suspects wanted for questioning for a shooting that left a male injured overnight.
According to police, at approximately 10:22 p.m. officers responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the single digit block of Earl Street near Elizabeth Avenue. When police arrived at the scene, they found evidence that a shooting occurred, but no victim.
A male victim was dropped off at University Hospital suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The individuals who dropped the victim off at the hospital left the scene in a white pickup truck.
Police on routine patrol at around 8:45 this morning in the city's West Ward spotted that vehicle on 14th Avenue and attempted to pull it over when the driver sped away and ignored officer's lights and sirens.
The chase came to a crashing halt in the vicinity of 18th Avenue and 21st Street when the male driver of the pickup truck lost control and struck a vehicle then bailed from the truck.
EMS transported one civilian driver to University Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries while police set up a perimeter in the area to locate the suspect.
There were no reports that police apprehended the suspect.
