Fire officials in Clark are investigating a fire that caused substantial damage to a house in the city overnight.
The early morning fire broke out in a large two and a half story wood framed house located at 10 Harrison Street just before 3:30 a.m.
According to officials, upon firefighters arrival, they observed heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the structure that caused flames to extend to the attic.
Crews were able to make it inside the home where a search for trapped and injured occupants came back negative.
The fire was brought under control in less than an hour with the cause under investigation.
UPDATE 7:01am A cat and a dog was found dead.
