A search warrant served Thursday afternoon in Irvington led to the arrest and eventual drug charge against a 48-year-old woman.
Following the execution of a search warrant of a basement apartment, at 356 Union Avenue, detectives seized 81 heroin-filled envelopes, stamped “Black Panther” in red ink and 26 plastic jugs which contained ‘crack’ cocaine.
The street value of the narcotics seized is $1,100.
Police subsequently took Yolanda Thomas, 48, into custody and charged her with with two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of CDS with intent to distribute and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1000 of University Middle School.
The suspect was lodged at the county jail where she awaits a bail hearing.
