Road crews from municipalities around Essex County dealt with heavy rain that flooded streets causing dangerous travel conditions on Sunday night.
According to Accu-Weather, steady rain fell through the evening hours accumulated between 1 inch to 3 inches of rain to most towns in the region.
There were no injuries reported in a crash that had sweeping rains cause a vehicle to lose control and strike a bridge over the Garden State Parkway near 50 Ball Street in Irvington.
Falling temperatures will mean a change from rain to small amounts of freezing rain, sleet and some snow around northern New Jersey but no significant precipitation is forecasted on Monday.
Expect icy conditions this morning in these sections of Newark as localized flooding and falling temperatures is expected to freeze wet roadways:

• Ferry and Foundry Streets
• Norfolk Street
• Orange Street
• Nesbitt Street
• McClellan and Frelinghuysen Avenue
• Frelinghuysen Avenue and the Route 21 underpass
There were no reports of serious injuries reported for crashes affected by weather overnight.
