Firefighters are on the scene of a massive fire that's tearing through a large apartment building in Roselle at this time.
Heavy fire ripped through the roof of a multi-family building located in the 700 block of East 3rd Street just before 6:45 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where they immediately struck a third-alarm as raging fire began to extend throughout the structure.

Crews from several municipalities provided mutual assistance as firefighters began to rescue several residents from balconies according to fire officials.
As of 7:32 a.m. there were no reports of serious injuries and crews have not brought the blaze under control.
The cause remains under investigation.
