The Newark West Ward community were treated to an evening of literary excellence as staff, students, and the community engaged in several evening that focused on literature and reading on Tuesday night.
According to the school's Parent Teacher Organization, The Drama Club presented excerpts from "To Kill a Mocking Bird", while the Debate Team presented a mini-debate on Child Labor vs. Poverty while organizers, volunteers, teachers and school administrators posted samples of student work around the presentation space.
The evening's Literary Carnival concluded with a Poetry Slam, Door Prizes, Student Work, Literary Bingo and other Literacy and Math Games.
