There is an active search underway for a suspect wanted for a violent armed robbery of a woman on a street in Newark on January 24th.
According to a statement released by Newark Police officials, at approximately 6:45 a.m., the victim walked near the intersection of 12th Avenue and South 7th Street when the suspect approached her.
Police said the suspects said a few words to the woman before pulling out a gun then took personal possessions from her before he ran from the scene.
Authorities described the suspect as a dark-skinned, clean-shaven male who dressed in all black clothing during the incident.
The man is about 6' tall and weighs approximately 140 lbs.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
