Active Search for Man Wanted for Questioning for Possible Newark Abduction of Female

Police are looking for a man wanted for questioning by Newark’s Special Victims Section for what appeared to be an abduction that occurred on a city street on Saturday.

According to police, on Saturday morning at approximately 11:25 a.m., an unknown male was traveling in a black Jeep SRT8 near Clinton Place and Lyons Avenue when the vehicle stopped, and the suspect exited the car.

Police said an unknown female, walking toward the vehicle, appeared to have been forced into the rear seat of the car by the male before the vehicle sped off.

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said "to ensure their safety, police want to speak to both the male and the female and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating them as we continue to search for the Jeep.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
