Gunfire Causes Property Damage in Jersey City

Police in Jersey City are investigating a shots fired incident that caused property damage in Jersey City.

Officers responded to an early morning report of shots fired that rang out in the 100 block of Roosevelt Avenue shortly after 4:30 a.m. where arriving police canvassed the area and found multiple shell casings.

Witnesses reported seeing a gray MPV style minivan that was occupied by two black males speed away from the scene immediately after the shooting.

As officers marked off about a half dozen shell casings, they found a vehicle struck by bullets, but a thorough search of the area had no injured victims found according to reports.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
