Authorities seek the public’s help in identifying a male wanted for questioning regarding a 2-alarm fire that occurred Jan. 13th.
According to police, at approximately 10:10 a.m., some 60 Newark Firefighters responded to 14 Garden Street, for a fire on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the 3-story, vacant commercial building.
Three firefighters were transported to University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The fire was put under control at 1:29 p.m.
Arson detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in quickly identifying a Hispanic male who was at the scene, riding a BMX dirt bicycle.
Police said he was wearing a black hat and sweatshirt with camouflage pants.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
