A massive fire that broke out in a building at the East Jersey State Prison in Woodbridge this evening had firefighters from several municipalities on the scene.
Crews battled the fire that ignited inside the ABC Wood Supply Shop at around 7:20 p.m. causing heavy smoke to billow through the jail according to fire officials.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control at around 9:45 p.m. where they stayed at the scene to extinguish hot spots.
There were no injuries reported to any of the prisoners officials said.
The cause remains under investigation.
