There is an active search for a suspect and an investigation into a shooting that caused property damage in a Newark neighborhood overnight.
Early morning gunfire erupted in the 30's block of Pierce Street just before 3 a.m. sending heavy police presence to the scene where they arrived to find evidence that shooting but no victims were immediately found.
Officers continued to search the area where they came across a house with a bullet hole in the window according to reports.
Police requested EMS for a male victim bleeding from a non-life threatening injury inside the residence, but gunfire did not strike the victim reports said.
A preliminary investigation appears that the victim was struck by glass when the bullet entered his home.
The suspect/s responsible for the shooting remains at-large.
