UPDATE: Social Media Threat Erroneously Tied to Linden High School

Linden

A social media threat that was erroneously tied to Linden High School earlier today was actually connected to Lincolnton High School in North Carolina.

Superintendent of Linden Public Schools, Danny Robertozzi issued the following statement this evening:

Dear parents and guardians,

Linden police have determined that the suspected social media threat to which we alerted you earlier today was actually connected to Lincolnton High School in North Carolina, and that there was no connection and no threat made to Linden High School.

Arrests were made in North Carolina in connection with the incident.

When students reported seeing a post that contained “LHS” and a name similar to that of a high school staff member, the administration acted swiftly and out of an abundance of caution to alert you and enact a controlled dismissal.

As always, our No. 1 priority is the safety and well-being of our students and staff, and we are grateful for your patience and support in this matter.

Thank you,

According to police, officers arrested a 16-year-old Charlotte, NC resident in connection with the threat which put Lincolnton High School (LHS) in Charlotte County, NC into lockdown.
