Police in Newark are investigating several armed robberies that were reported in the city's North Ward on Tuesday.
According to authorities, the first robbery took place in the area of Grafton Avenue on Tuesday morning at around 4 a.m. when a gunman pointed the weapon at the victim and took cash. The suspect also took personal possessions from the victim before he ran from the scene.
Authorities said at around 5:40 a.m., a second robbery occurred on Manchester Place and Montclair Avenue where a male suspect approached the victim on the street and took personal possessions at gunpoint. The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
Police described the suspect as a light complexion black male who wore all black and possessed a black handgun when he ran from the scene onto Manchester place.
Newark authorities are also looking into an armed robbery of a convenience store located in the 200 block of Bloomfield Avenue last night.
According to reports, several police units responded to 202 Bloomfield Avenue at around 8 p.m. to investigate reports of an armed robbery.
Upon their arrival, store employees reported that two male suspects, both armed with guns, entered the establishment and took an unknown amount of cash before they ran from the scene.
There was at least one other victim who walked into the police precinct reporting that they were robbed on a North Ward street on Tuesday according to reports.
There were no physical injuries in any of the incidents.
