There were no serious injuries reported for a fire that broke out inside a house in the city's South Ward overnight.
Heavy flames ripped through a house located in the 40's block of Milford Avenue just before midnight sending firefighters to the scene where crews arrived to find fire coming from the roof of the house and extending to neighboring homes.

Newark firefighters ordered several alarms as strong winds caused the intensity of the fire to spread to at least three other homes causing massive destruction according to reports.
It took crews about an hour to bring the fire under control with a search of all structures indicating no trapped or injured occupants inside.
The fire was placed under control at around 1:08 a.m.
NFD UPDATE 7:13 AM: Ten people, including six adults and four children, required assistance from 44 Milford Avenue. The original fire building is 39 Milford Ave.
