A fast-moving fire that tore through a home in Point Pleasant this morning has authorities now reporting a fatality.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to 1159 Ridgefield Drive after fire broke out inside the structure at around 2:05 a.m.
Crews battled intense flames while they worked through frigid temperatures to bring the fire under control with a portion of the house collapsing reports said.
A male in his mid-60's was pulled from the house and later pronounced dead.
The official cause of the fire remains under investigation.
There were no other serious injuries reported.
