A reported armed carjacking at gunpoint that occurred in Newark this morning has police on the search for a suspect.
According to preliminary reports, the incident happened in the 600 block of 4th Street before 6:45 a.m. where police say a dark complexioned black male approached the victim armed with a gun and demanded their vehicle.
Authorities said the suspects wore a dark coat and a mask on his face when he took a victim's silver 2009 Lexus IS250 shortly before police arrived.
The vehicle has a reported NJ license plate number "Y57-EAA"
There were no physical injuries reported.
