Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that the owners of “Munchkin,” a stolen Yorkshire Terrier that the owners definitely identified as their missing dog, were incorrect.
After speaking to Union Police Officers, it has been determined that the below pictured male, identified as Isaiah Cobb, 27, was in possession of his own dog and not “Munchkin”, who was taken during a robbery on November 24th, 2017.
“Munchkin” had been incorrectly identified by its owner in the below photos, captured at a local pet store, and Mr. Cobb, seen with a similar dog, was sought for questioning.
Mr. Cobb has been completely cleared of any association with this robbery and has proven to be the rightful owner of the pet pictured in his possession.
Director Ambrose is urging anyone with information about “Munchkin” is urged to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867).
