Shooting in Plainfield Leaves Two Injured

Two men injured by gunshots last night were taken to an area hospital after shots were fired in Plainfield. 

Police responded to the area of East 2nd Street and Garfield Avenue at approximately 9:50 p.m. after a ShotSpotter System alert was received by dispatch, according to a statement released.

Two male victims were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg and the other with a gunshot wound to the arm, police said. 

They are both listed in stable condition with non life threatening wounds.

At this time it is unknown if an earlier shooting that occurred on the 600 block East 4th Street and this one are connected.
