Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Mark Centurione announce that at approximately 8:23, p.m. on November 30th, police responded to 5 Everson Place in Clifton at the request of a concerned party to conduct a welfare check on the residents of that address.
Police said upon their arrival, officers discovered 70-year-old Lucia Orlando and her husband 74-year-old Cristifor Orlando, both dead inside the residence.
Authorities would not say why they waited nearly 24 hours to release any information or if the incident was a murder-suicide.
According to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, although the matter remains an active and ongoing criminal investigation, no suspects are being sought at this time, and there is no danger to the public.
